To the left is a picture of a one ounce platinum bullion bar. Platinum is one of the most precious metals out
there, even more scarce than gold bullion. Historically, platinum bullion has been much more expensive than gold bullion,
but the price has plummeted in recent months, making it very attractive.
The Price of Platinum Bullion
It's absolutely amazing. Over the last few months, the price of platinum bullion has dropped from around $2,000 per ounce to
a current price of $846 per ounce. During the same time period, most other precious metals have also fallen, except our good
friend gold bullion. Don't get me wrong, gold is off the highs, but it's nonetheless held in there a great deal better than
platinum, palladium, and silver. While I continue to think that gold is cheap and it's a great time to buy, I really
think platinum bullion is cheap. At $846 per ounce, the once unreachable precious metal is not somewhat accessible to smaller
investors and collectors. Why are the prices down so much? I believe the strengthening dollar is at play, in addition to overall
volatile and unpredictable financial markets. Does this change my long term opinion? Absolutely not. I cannot believe the current
deals and am personally loading up on metals. Of course, I'm not an investment advisor, and this is just my opinion. Please,
remember to research yourself and complete your own due diligence.
How Do I Buy Platinum Bullion Bars?
As the image above implies, one ounce bars are a super way to buy platinum bullion. Two of the top producers of platinum bullion
bars are Johnson Matthey and Engelhard. Both of these companies are reputable and also provide high quality gold and silver bullion
bars. Another option: One ounce Platinum
American Eagle coins. If you are interested in purchasing either of these, I would recommend going straight to a
top notch
reputable precious metals dealer
such as Blanchard and Company.
Platinum is a very expensive metal and you want to rest assured you are dealing with a safe, reputable source if you are in
the one ounce or more range.
Buying Smaller Quantities of Platinum Bullion
I'm really excited about what I'm about to tell you because it has made platinum bullion accessible to me, finally. As you
know, I'm a huge fan of
E Cohen Mint. I am pleased to announce that our
friends at E Cohen Mint are now offering platinum bullion in small denominations. This means that everyone can
and should now own platinum bullion. E Cohen Mint is offering 1/4 gram platinum bullion coins and also 1 troy grain platinum
bullion coins. Both are available for an extremely attractive price and I recommend checking them out!
Conclusion - Diversify Your Gold Holdings With Some Platinum
Many people look at gold bullion as a means of diversifying their overall financial portfolio. This is a great choice. I personally
like to take it one step further and diversify within my gold and precious metals portfolio. Why not consider some platinum bullion
bars and coins at current fire sale prices? Definitely worth some thought!
