To the left is your normal, average Dr. Pepper soda can, right? Wrong! Of course you already know
the answer if you have glanced at the image below, and this soda can is actually a top secret safe which
can store your gold coins and valuables. I feel very strongly about being smart about
hiding your gold and silver coins.
First and foremost, I recommend storing the majority of your precious metals collection in your bank
safe deposit box.
However, it often does not make sense to store all of your coins in your safe deposit box. What if you want
access to a few coins in case of an emergency? If the economy goes under, the US dollar may be worthless and
gold and silver coins may be used as true currency. What if there's a gold confiscation and you want to hedge
your bets by keeping some gold on your person? In my own personal case, I believe it's good luck to keep
some gold and silver close to home. Whatever your reason, this soda can makes the perfect place to store your
gold coins and valuables that you decide to keep at home.
Where I Bought This Little Safe
I bought this Dr. Pepper hollow can a while back at the mall. Unfortunately, I don't have the packaging
anymore so I don't know the exact manufacturer. However, I bought it at the store that has all kinds
of random and neat stuff. Doing a quick search online, the product I bought looks very close to
products on Diversion Safes. I recommend
checking out this site for a variety of unique and interesting safes. Rather buy the safe for cash in
person? I don't blame you. Look around your local mall and hopefully you will have the same luck
that I did!
Why This Safe Works For Storing Your Gold Coins

I really like this safe. The main reason is it blends in so well that it can fool anyone. I really like Dr.
Pepper. It's one of my favorite drinks. I can go buy a hundred cans of Dr. Pepper at Costco and then put
my Dr. Pepper safe can somewhere in the middle of the stack. A thief would never suspect that one of the cans
is fake. Even if they did, it would be hard to find the one that's the safe because there are so many! I really
like the soda can safe idea because soda cans contain aluminum. Many thieves these days are savvy and bring metal
detectors. The beauty of this safe is cans are already made out of metal. Since the thief's detector would go
off anyway because the cans are metal to begin with, this provides an added layer of protection.
Some Closing Thoughts On My Soda Can Safe
There's not a huge amount of space in the safe. the only coins that really fit are one half ounce gold bullion
coins and smaller (and also some cash if you would like). This is actually a good thing in my opinion. I recommend
protecting your gold and silver bullion in your bank safe deposit box. In general, I can sleep better at night without
having to worry about my coins getting stolen. At the same time, it is also a good idea to keep some coins at home.
The beauty of this safe is it limits how many coins you can fit at home to the "right" amount in my opinion.
Moreover, which coins will be most valuable in an emergency? You guessed it,
fractional gold bullion coins, the only coins that
fit in this safe!
