Hey Everyone! I'm excited today to write all about my brand new Isle of Man Cat Gold Coin. I'm a huge fan of fractional gold coins. I'm also a huge fan of River City Coins. That's precisely why I decided to buy my tenth ounce cat gold coin from River City Coins!

Tenth Ounce Isle of Man Gold Cat Coins Are Collectible

I couldn't be more happy with my 1/10 ounce Isle of Man cat gold coin. Why? These coins are super collectible. My cat gold coin is from 2000. As you can see in the pictures in this article, the 2000 Isle of Man gold coin features a Scottish Fold cat playing with a ball on its reverse. The obverse features Queen Elizabeth II. Each year of this awesome coin minted by The Pobjoy Mint on the Isle of Man features a different cat, starting all the way back in 1988! That's right: There exists many years of this sweet gold coin, all with different cats. While I'm really investing in gold coins for their bullion value, it certainly doesn't hurt to have some fun on the collectability side of things. Gold is really the investment that you can have fun collecting. There are few other gold coins (well, except perhaps the Australian lunar gold coins) that are more collectible than these gold Isle of Man cat coins.

Isle of Man Gold Cat Coins Are Special

Other than their collectability, why am I such a fan of these gold coins? There are four main reasons. First and foremost, they are off the beaten path. Everyone has heard of Gold Eagles, Gold Krugerrands, and Gold Maple Leaf coins. Even the Gold Panda is relatively well known. However, Isle of Man Gold Cat Coins are much more rare when it comes to the average gold bullion coin collection. It's precisely this reason that I enjoy collecting them! Don't get me wrong: I love all of the gold bullion coins just mentioned. However, it's fun to avoid the beaten path from time to time and collect something unique.

1/5 and 1/25 Troy Ounce Isle of Man Coins Are Unique

Second, I'm a huge fan of these gold bullion coins because they come in some really unique weights! The tenth ounce gold coin I got is relatively standard. Most gold bullion coins come in the 1/10 ounce variety. In addition to the standard sizes of 1 ounce, 1/2 ounce, and 1/10 ounce, however, Isle of Man Gold Cats also come in 1/5 ounce and 1/25 ounce varieties. How cool is that? This is where things get really interesting! I haven't heard of any other gold bullion coins offered in 1/5 and 1/25 ounce versions. While I don't own either of these weights yet (I only own the one cat gold coin featured in this article), they're certainly on my list.

The Perfect Gold Coin For Cat Lovers

Third, I'm a fan of these gold coins because I like cats. If you're a cat lover or know someone who loves cats, you've just got to buy an Isle of Man gold coin for either yourself or your loved one as a gift. This is the perfect gift for anyone who's fond of cats. I don't know of any other high quality gold bullion coins that have such an amazing variety of cats. The best part of it all? Each year of these amazing coins features a different cat on the reverse. Buy the years that feature your favorite cats!

24 Karat Gold Bullion Coins Rock

Last, I'm a tremendous fan of these Isle of Man Gold Coins because they are pure 24 karat gold bullion. I've talked about it quite a bit on Gold Why. I'm a fan of both 22 karat gold bullion coins (like the 1/10 ounce gold eagle) and 24 karat gold bullion coins (like the 1/4 ounce gole maple leaf). It makes sense for any well diversified gold bullion collection to have both types of coins. However, I must say the luster of pure 24 karat gold bullion is simply amazing. There's nothing like holding a pure 24 karat gold bullion coin in your hands and that's just one more reason with gold Isle of Man coins rock!

So, there you have it! I'm super happy with my brand new Isle of Man gold coin. I highly recommend picking one up for your personal collection. I'm definitely going to be purchasing more of these over the years. New: Want to see even more of this amazing coin? I just uploaded a brand new video about tenth ounce gold coins that features this beautiful coin in HD video quality. As another new update, I just purchased an amazing 1/25 ounce Dog Gold Coin also from the Pobjoy Mint (the makers of the Cat Gold Coin featured in this article). Make sure to check it out!
